Check out our blog to get monthly updates about all things B+ from our President and Co-Founder, Joe McDonough.
Paying it Forward
When we started The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation back in 2007, we printed cards that we called "Pay it Forward" cards.

1,000th Talk
When Andrew went to Heaven, Chris, Ali, and I started The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation to fight childhood cancer by funding research and helping families of kids with cancer pay their bills.

SIOP 2018 - No Child Should Die of Cancer
The 50th Congress of the Société Internationale d'Oncologie Pédiatrique (SIOP) was held about 10 days ago in Kyoto, Japan. I had the privilege of attending and it was fascinating.

Game Changers
The school year is a REALLY busy time of the year for us here at The B+ Foundation...and that's a great thing.

B+ Hero Updates
Last Friday, I shared with you the special bond between a young B+ Hero, Aryn, and her "big sister" from Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Delaware, Sam Friedman.

Lifelong Connections
Please read this beautiful letter from a B+ Hero Mom, Shannon. Please keep Aryn's 'big sister', Sam, in your prayers.

Rollercoaster
When we were in the hospital, we were warned that the ‘journey’ was going to be like a rollercoaster with many ups and downs. For the record, I really don’t like rollercoasters.

September is Here - Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month AND Andrew's birthday month. One week ago today was Andrew's 26th birthday. Its' SO bittersweet because we had 14 AMAZING birthdays with Andrew here and, sadly, the last 12 apart.

Fun for Our B+ Heroes
We've had some cool experiences to highlight for some of our B+ Heroes. On Saturday, August 18th, the DelVal BMW Club held their annual B+ Day at the Track at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ.
Our Families Need Your Help!
In the past two weeks alone, I've signed over 150 checks to help families of a child with cancer avoid eviction, keep their car so that they can take their child to the hospital for chemo, purchase necessary medicine that insurance won't cover, keep the electricity on, and sadly, assist with funeral expenses so that families can send off their child in a timely and dignified manner.

Andrew...and More!
It's taken me 10 days to write this and I apologize for that. Ten days ago marked the 11th 'anniversary' of my son's passing. Kids just should NOT die! Under any circumstances.

From the 49th State to the 1st State
A year ago this week, The Today Show did a nice feature on The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation and we were stunned when they presented us with a free cruise to Alaska!

Historic Childhood Cancer News!
Yesterday, the STAR Act, the most comprehensive piece of childhood cancer legislation ever introduced in the United States Congress, was signed into law! STAR stands for Survivorship, Treatment, Access, and Research.

Congratulations Dr. Ali McDonough!
My update today is not about childhood cancer per se, but about a young lady who has done a lot in the battle against childhood cancer - a Co-Founder of The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation - Ali McDonough.

Heartwarming Updates
I'm always humbled and appreciative of the wide array of support that we receive in our efforts to help families of kids with cancer and fund cutting-edge research.

Advocating for the Kids!
This year, we had the largest contingent of B+ families join me for "Action Days" on Capitol Hill. Action Days are sponsored by the Alliance for Childhood Cancer, a collaboration of about 25 different organizations, including The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation.

The Circle of Support
Riley is a really cool, 6 year old girl from PA who was diagnosed with leukemia on March 29th. It was such a privilege to get the opportunity to spend some time with Riley and her family today.

It's a Team Effort
I gave a brief talk last week at the national conference of the Association of Pediatric Oncology Social Workers (APOSW) in Austin, TX. The pediatric oncology Social Workers are truly our partners in our B+ Family Assistance Program. They are our eyes and ears in the field.

Congratulations B+ NOVA Nation!
It was so fitting that I watched Monday's NCAA Men's Basketball Championship game at my hotel in Tuscaloosa, AL after a talk I gave at the University of Alabama.
Legislative History Milestone!
Yesterday, the STAR Act, the most comprehensive childhood cancer bill ever introduced, was PASSED in the Senate by "Unanimous Consent". This is HUGE!
