The B+ Blog
Check out our blog to get monthly updates about all things B+ from our President and Co-Founder, Joe McDonough.
Stories About Kids
I had the opportunity to speak last month at Ferris School, a facility for court-committed, juvenile offenders. I shared my perspective about how life isn't always fair but it's up to us to decide what choices we are going to make.
Kids - The Game Changers
There are so many ways that you can help us help families of kids with cancer. It's especially gratifying to me when it's "Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer®". Whether it's bringing an event to your school, attending a B+ Foundation-run event, joining us on our B+ Running Team, or doing your own thing, there's no limit.
HOPE & Sadness
The world of childhood cancer can be a very depressing place to live in. I attend children’s funerals, I visit with families early on following diagnosis, I see the terror and despair in their eyes, and I see the physical, emotional, and marital impact that it has on families.
Busy, busy week!
A week ago Sunday, I had the privilege of giving 5 talks at the University of Texas in Austin. While tremendously exhausting, it really is a privilege to introduce new college students to Andrew, The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, and our mission to fight childhood cancers.
Alex & Andrew
So sad to say goodbye yesterday to my friend and B+ Hero Alex Blythe. This 21 year old young man fought 3 DIFFERENT types of cancer over the past 7 years.

A Birthday Message from Ali
Today, my brother should be turning 24. What would he look like? How would he celebrate? Would he have a girlfriend? Maybe he'd be married, like some of his friends now are.
#24ForACure & CCAM
September 3, 1992 was a really special day for our family. It was the day that Andrew John McDonough was born and our #FamilyOfFour was complete. This coming Saturday marks Andrew's 24th birthday, his 10th in Heaven.
B+ Hero, Alex Blythe
In case you missed it on our B+ Facebook page last week, we ask for your thoughts and prayers for B+ Hero, Alex Blythe.
Join the Fight!
How Can You Help Fight Childhood Cancer? Yes, you alone can make a huge difference in helping The B+ Fight Childhood Cancer.
A Sister's Tribute - 9th Anniversary
Each year, as we get into July, a heaviness comes over me. It feels like my heart beats faster and memories race through my mind, as July 14th gets closer and closer.
A Message from Ali
This week, I was reminded that something seemingly “material” can be so meaningful when there are memories associated with it. On Wednesday, we learned that our home phone’s answering machine broke.
Join the FIGHT
The Philadelphia Fight is a professional rugby club who has selected The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation as their philanthropy. Last night, the Fight took on the NY Knights in a battle of undefeated teams.
White House Cancer Moonshot Summit

Another Successful B+ 5k!
Thank you all who joined us on Wed night, donated, or participated virtually in our 10th Annual B+ 5k Run/Walk. We had a huge crowd, great weather, a lot of good food, a lot of fun, and a big gang of B+ Heroes (see picture).
Need Your Help Today
B+ Heroes Kendal & Kenedi were BOTH diagnosed with Leukemia (AML - like Andrew) at only 3 MONTHS OLD! Because of your support, we were able to help their family pay bills so that their family could focus more time on these precious girls.
Andrew's "Graduation" Year
From Ali: 6 years ago yesterday, the Salesianum School Class of 2010 graduated. 4 years earlier, a blonde curly-haired 13 year old walked into his new high school excited for the friends he would make, sports he would play, and things he would learn over the next four years.
It's SO Easy to Help
One of our B+ Heroes, Hayden, took her parents to Ocean City, NJ recently and decided to take a break for ice cream on a bench on the boardwalk
Capitol Hill Lobbying
Yesterday, about 150 families from across the country descended on Washington, DC to tell our stories to our elected officials and their staffers. This is all part of the Alliance for Childhood Cancer "Action Days".
North Star/Starboard Black Tags/B+ 5k
Thank you, North Star Elementary School (DE) for hosting your annual "Movie Night" last night. It is always a pleasure to join you and I'm so glad that you got to hear from B+ Hero Megan O'Rourke and her Mom.
