Tues. Apr. 10th

As you’ll see in the picture above, some B+ Heroes were guests of the University of Delaware Football Team at practice last Saturday.  The players couldn’t have been nicer!  They gave the B+ Heroes and B+ Sibling Heroes UD hats and posters and autographed everything.  Thank you, Coach KC Keeler, Jerry Oravitz, and the Blue Hen Football Team for your hospitality.

Continuing with UD news, the first steps have been taken for UDance 2013.  I’m not kidding when I say that the students put 12 months of planning and hard work into this wildly successful event.  I’d like to congratulate Megan Rudolphi and Hilary Primack on their selections as Executive Co-Chairs for UDance ’13.  Ladies, I know you’ll do a great job!

Thank you to the Alpha Epsilson Phi sorority at New York University for inviting me to speak at your Chapter Meeting last night.  We’re all so excited about our new partnership and can’t wait to bring B+ to NYU!

Thank you, also, to Wilmington Friends School (WFS) for inviting me to speak at the Upper School Assembly this morning.  This morning’s talk was particularly difficult.  We live about 8 houses away from WFS and, while I was preparing to speak this morning, all I could think about were the great times that we had with Andrew on the campus of Friends.  We used to sled on their hills when he and Ali were little and I threw batting practice to Andrew on their baseball field with his Christmas present aluminum bat just 2 weeks before our world crashed with his diagnosis of leukemia.  And, as I spoke, I looked out in the audience of about 250 and saw two of Andrew’s cousins, Caroline & Annie, sitting there.  This talk today was especially personal…and difficult.

I have to admit that I was overwhelmed by their sincere and enthusiastic response to my invitation to them to help us in our battle against childhood cancers.  We’re going to create something special at Friends, I just know it.

Have you ever thought about how cool it would be to run a Marathon or Half-Marathon?

Can you imagine the feeling of accomplishment?

Well, we have some seriously EXCITING news to share with you.  Similar to what other charities have done (yes, I’m borrowing a good idea!  🙂  ), we are starting a “B+ Running Team“.  The B+ Running Team will participate in The Hamptons (NY) Marathon/Half Marathon on Sept 29, 2012.  For those of you unfamiliar with The Hamptons, check out the TV shows “Royal Pains” or “Revenge”.  The Hamptons are beautiful and the course is supposed to be spectacular.

And, best of all, we’re going to provide you with everything you need to check this one off your bucket list.

Join us (no obligation!) for an Information Meeting on Thurs. April 19th at 7pm at the Christiana Hilton (100 Continental Drive, Newark).  You’ll learn about the personalized training program and everything (i.e. registration fee, transportation, lodging, meals, etc etc) that WE are going to cover.  Join us for the meeting and just hear us out.  And, yes, you’ll be helping a great cause.

PLEASE spread the word to everyone you know.  Hope to see a packed room at the Christiana Hilton on April 19th.

Finally, don’t forget to come out and watch some high-level soccer this coming Saturday, April 14th at Kirkwood Soccer when we host the “2nd Annual B+ College Classic”.  Teams participating include, Delaware, Navy, Villanova, St. Joe’s, LaSalle, Temple, Lafayette, Millersville, and Franklin & Marshall.  Requested donation is only $10 for the day, $5 if kids wear their soccer team jersey.  Games start at 10am.  More information can be found at aglodoxr.com
